Lacus Temporis ( Latin : lake of time ) is a frozen lava lake on the moon , which is similar to the larger Maria in terms of its origin . The name was established by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.
The small sea area has a mean diameter of 117 kilometers and is located in the northeast of the moon side facing the earth at the selenographic coordinates 45.9 degrees north and 58.4 degrees east.
