The caburgua lake is a large lake in southern Chile .
It is located in Region IX ( Región de la Araucanía ). The lake is located 23 km east of the city of Pucón . To the southwest of the lake is the famous Lago Villarrica lake .
Lago Caburgua has an area of around 51 km² and is lined with white sandy beaches. The lake is fed by the River Blanco . To the east of the lake is the Huerquehue National Park .
There are various thermal springs southwest of the lake , e.g. B. the Termas de Menetué , Termas de Huife and Termas de Río Blanco . To the east of the lake is the 2040 m high mountain Cerro Picos del Caburgua . To the west of the lake is the Villarrica National Reserve .
The Ojos de Caburgua , large spring basins of an underground river that emanates from Lago Caburgua, are particularly well known . The whole area is surrounded by forests.

The lake is suitable for sailing and fishing . The lake and the rivers are very rich in fish. The area is ideal for kayaking and windsurfing . There are a number of campsites by the lake.
