The Laguna del Sauce is a lake in Uruguay .
It is located in the Maldonado department west of Punta del Este . The approximately 5,000 ha large and between seven and 13 meters deep lake is the largest freshwater reservoir in the department. It is fed by the two tributaries Arroyo Pan de Azúcar and Arroyo del Sauce . A connection to the extensive Río de la Plata estuary is via a narrow channel.
