history

The Lahrensmühle

It was first mentioned in a document in 1350. The name Lahrensmühle comes from the miller Laurins Hans , who had the right of use at the beginning of the 16th century. Veit Wankmüller took over the mill around 1704. The name "Veitenmühle", which has been in use for a long time, goes back to him. The mill remained in the possession of the Wankmüller family for over 200 years. It was foreclosed in 1908 after its unsuccessful owner emigrated to America.

The Lautenschlager family has owned the mill since 1908. In 1957 the milling operation was stopped. The historic mill building and the house were renovated in 1999 in keeping with the style. The restored rooms are used for cultural events and exhibitions. The mill runs a mill shop.
