Laimutė Vaidelienė

Laimutė Vaidelienė (born May 5, 1966 in Aleksotas , Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian politician, former Deputy Minister of Health.

Life

After graduating from high school from 1973 to 1984 at the 28th Kaunas Middle School, Laimutė Vaidelienė graduated from 1985 to 1991 with a degree in medicine and from 1991 to 1993 resident in pediatrics at the Kauno medicinos akademija . From 1995 to 2010 she taught as a lecturer and worked as a child pulmonologist and allergologist at the Clinic for Childhood Diseases of the Kauno medicinos universitetas (KMU). She continued her education at the Children's Clinic at the Freiburg University Medical Center .

In 2001 she did her doctorate at LSMU , and from 2010 she taught as a lecturer. From 2010 to 2014 she headed the pulmonology sector at the LSMU Children's Clinic. In 2014 she headed a department at the LSMU Children's Clinic at Kliniken Kaunas . From December 15, 2014 to 2016, she was Lithuania's Deputy Minister of Health in the Butkevičius cabinet (16th government). Vaidelienė is non-party.

Since 1997 she has been a member of the European Respiratory Society and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology .

Vaidelienė is married to Ramūnas Vaidelys and has two sons (Martynas Vaidelys and Lukas Vaidelys).

Vaidelienė speaks Russian, German and English.
