Lance Corporal of Horse

The Lance Corporal of Horse (short: LCoH) is a unique rank in the Household Cavalry of the British Army and the counterpart to the Lance Sergeant of the Foot Guards ( guard regiments on foot) and the Honorable Artillery Company (honorary artillery company ).

It was introduced in 1971. The rank of Lance Corporal of Horse replaces the rank of corporal in the Household Cavalry . The rank of Lance Corporal of Horse is higher than the rank of Lance Corporal and lower than the rank of Corporal of Horse . Lance Corporal of Horse are always addressed as Corporal.

A Lance Corporal of Horse has three white, pointed downwards uniform angles , above is a crown made of canvas (in contrast to the full Corporals of Horse, who wear a metal crown over the three white uniform angles).
