Landscape with a Red Cloud is a painting by the Estonian painter Konrad Mägi . The artist executed the 1913/1914 work, 70.4 centimeters high and 78 centimeters wide, in oil on canvas. Stylistically, this painting shows a certain similarity to Fauvism , which influenced Mägi's choice of colors before the First World War after a stay in Paris . The landscape with the red cloud belongs to the collection of the Kumu in Tallinn .

The painting is divided into two image zones. The upper one shows the deep blue sea, which rushes foaming white on the shore. A red cloud stretches above the horizon line, reaching up into the yellow-orange sky. The front area of the image shows heavy vegetation. Trees dominate on the right, a single tree in the middle protrudes into the sky. In the foreground, especially towards the left edge of the picture, there are numerous white and yellow flowers. On the left edge of the picture in the middle, a cascade-shaped plant extends into the sea zone. In particular, the right half of the painting is dominated by darker tones, while the left half is lighter and the sky is glowing in warm tones.

The landscape with the red cloud was recorded by Stephen Farthing in his book 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die, published in 2008.
