The landscape protection area Areal near Berum Castle is a landscape protection area in the district of Aurich in the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG AUR 00016.

Description of the area

The protected landscape area, designated in 1965, covers an area of ​​0.03 square kilometers and is located south of Berumer Allee on the immediate local border with Hage. The landscape protection area includes the historical castle complex with its wide, partly swamped castle moat, the high earthen walls and unused areas with large old trees.

Protection purpose

General protection purposes are the "preservation of a historical facility with local history (identification of local history) and settlement aesthetic value, preservation and care of natural features such as wood and small water structures as well as the species and communities adapted to them in the vicinity of the settlement and the preservation of the recreational function in connection with the adjacent forest areas ".
