The landscape protection area of ​​District Olpe with 25,503.07 hectares is located in the District of Olpe . It was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 1984 by the district council of the district of Olpe . In 2004 there was another expulsion. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas, grassland and fields. Smaller areas with Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures are also located in the LSG. The forests mostly have spruce or beech trees.

Protection purpose

The designation was carried out to maintain, develop or restore the performance and functionality of the natural balance or the usability of natural assets; because of the variety, character or beauty of the landscape and because of the special importance of this area for recreation .

Legal regulations

In the landscape protection area Kreis Olpe, among other things, the erection of buildings is prohibited. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the ban. The construction of livestock shelters and construction work on existing farms and buildings are therefore exempt from the ban. Fences and high seats can also be built. Initial afforestation and the new planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures are subject to official approval from the Lower Nature Conservation Authority .
