The landscape protection area Meinerzhagen type A with 8426.04  hectares is located in the Märkischer Kreis in the area of ​​the city of Meinerzhagen . It was designated in 2001 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type A (general landscape protection). The LSG goes to the edge of the settlement.
