Lapierre is a French bicycle manufacturer . Today he belongs to the Dutch Accell Group .

history

Lapierre was founded in 1946 by Gaston Lapierre in Dijon . In 1960 the son Jacky Lapierre took over the management of the company. In the 1980s, Lapierre was one of the largest manufacturers of mountain bikes in France , and since 1988 the company has sponsored various teams and riders. In 1993, the Dutch ATAG Group (now Accell Group ) initially took over a one-third stake, and in 1996, Lapierre was finally fully acquired by ATAG.

In 2002 the professional team La Française Des Jeux was equipped, in the same year Nicolas Vogondy won the title of French champion from this team.
