Larissa Waters

Larissa Waters (born February 8, 1977 in Winnipeg ) is an Australian politician and since 2011 Senator of the Australian Greens for Queensland in the Senate . She became known for being the first politician and member of the Australian Senate to breastfeed a child in the Chamber.

On July 18, 2017, Waters stepped down from her position as senator. She sought legal advice after her party colleague Scott Ludlam discovered he had a second citizenship and found that she was a Canadian citizen by birth. As a dual citizen, Article 44 of the Australian Constitution prohibits her from holding elected federal offices.
