The Las Vegas Springs Preserve is an inner-city nature reserve located about 4 km west of downtown Las Vegas , in which nature trails, event locations and museum facilities are located. The heart of the reserve is the original water source for the colonization of the city of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Springs .

The facility includes botanical gardens, galleries, outdoor venues, and various hiking trails.

Work on the protected area began in 2005 and was opened on June 8, 2007. However, efforts have been made for a long time to preserve the source and the infrastructure associated with the historic water supply.

Attractions in the park

  • The Origen Experience includes three interactive exhibits on various themes from the Las Vegas Valley's past.
  • The Desert Living Center wants to teach the residents of Las Vegas techniques for saving water and for a sustainable existence in the desert. The facility was named Nevada’s Best Public Green Building Project in 2007.
  • Four themed trails lead through the landscape and reach u. a. also a cienega (oasis).
  • The Springs Preserve Amphitheater
  • New construction of the Nevada State Museum , which moved here in 2011.
