Lato pros Kamara , often simply Kamara , was an ancient coastal town in northeast Crete . It is the modern Agios Nikolaos .

Kamara was probably founded in archaic times. It was the port of Lato for a long time . In the second century BC, Lato was abandoned and many citizens settled in Kamara. From the following period there are mainly many inscriptions that show that the city was now of some importance. Many of them are gravestones. An inscription names a chapel of Aphrodite . Another inscription, dated around 216–200 BC. BC, has a contract between Lato pros Kamara and another city on Crete. The name of the other city is lost.
