Laurent Thévenot

Laurent Thévenot (* 1949 ) is a French economist and sociologist.

Laurent Thévenot

Together with Luc Boltanski , he is significantly involved in the development of a pragmatic sociology of criticism and a special conventionalist perspective in economics and social sciences, the économie des conventions (EC) (see also market sociology ). Within the EC, his contribution consists particularly in the area of organizational and institutional research. His concept of mold investment plays a special role here. In recent years his research has led him to the formulation of a pragmatic sociology of engagement.
