The Lautertal Bridge is a 300 m long bridge on the federal highway 73 .
The bridge is curved in plan and is located at the Coburg -Nord junction and spans a flat valley basin with the Lauterbach and two farm roads that connect Unterlauter with Bertelsdorf at a maximum height of around 9 m with eight fields . The bridge has a noise barrier on the western side. The overpass with two separate superstructures was built between 2002 and 2003.
Foundation and substructures
The pillars and abutments are based on large bored piles 1.2 m in length and designed as pillar disks with V-shaped splayed pier heads.
Superstructures
The two adjacent superstructures of the prestressed concrete bridge are continuous girders with a two-web T-beam cross- section and constant construction height. The prestressing consists of internal tendons . The superstructure has no cross beams in the bearing axes. The total span for the eight-span bridge is 300 m. The two end fields span 31.5 m, the six inner fields 39.5 m.
execution
The bridge was built in eight sections with a prop armor supported on steel yokes.
