Loudspeaker basket is the name given to the basket-like object in a dynamic loudspeaker . It is a connecting element between the actuator and the diaphragm .

The rim of the basket is, on the one hand, a contact surface with a loudspeaker housing or an open baffle ( e.g. the rear shelf in a car) and, on the other hand, the contact surface for the bead that connects the membrane and loudspeaker basket.

Most speaker baskets are made of sheet steel. Baskets made of die-cast aluminum are considered to be more torsion-resistant. Too wide webs hinder the membrane movement because the air cannot circulate freely there.
