Viewed from a distance, the sculpture depicts a blossoming apple tree. On closer inspection one finds some elements of the life cycle embedded in the various elements of the tree. Faces, hands and other body parts are indicated in the tree roots and the bark. A youthful male figure grows out of one of the branches and appears to be lifting the leaves and fruits of the tree. There is also a female figure in the leaves. At the top of the tree, birds detach themselves from the tree soar up to the sky. The dimensions of the sculpture are 270 × 190 × 95 cm.

The generations are shown from bottom to top . The ancestors in the tree root and bark create the basis for the current generation, which is depicted in the branches. The current generation in turn holds and supplies the leaves and fruits that represent the future generation.
