As a resume or biography in which it is biographical research , the life course of individuals in the context referred to social or historical conditions. In general terms, the Duden defines curriculum vitae as an “individual course of a life, life story”.

Dausien referred to the term life course more narrowly than the term biography , as it is more often used with the external and objective sequence within the individual, while life story should rather be assessed as a narration of internal or subjective sequences of events.
