The Lechler GmbH is a family company with headquarters in Baden-Württemberg Metzingen . The company develops and produces precision nozzles, nozzle systems and droplet eliminators made of a wide variety of materials for a wide range of applications. As the market leader in Germany and Europe, Lechler is one of the leading companies in atomization technology on the world market.

Lechler employs around 750 people worldwide at six production sites in Europe, the USA and Asia and has sales companies and sales partners on all continents. In 2012, 325 people were employed in Germany. Sales amounted to € 95 million, of which € 60 million was in Germany.

history

Paul Lechler founded the company of the same name in 1879 as a trading company for technical products. In addition to selling seals for the up-and-coming automotive industry and protective coatings, Lechler acquired a patent for liquid atomization nozzles in 1893 and then concentrated on these three product areas.

During the First World War, in-house production was started for all three areas. From 1950 onwards, atomization nozzles were increasingly developed and sold for general industry, for dust control in mining, and for roller cooling and descaling in the steel industry. Due to strong growth in the 1950s, production was relocated to larger premises in Feuerbach in 1958.

The individual product divisions of the Paul Lechler company became independent in 1961 and Lechler Bautenschutz Chemie KG (today Sika Chemie GmbH as part of the Swiss Sika AG ), Lechler Dichtungswerke KG (today ElringKlinger AG ) and Lechler Apparatebau KG were created today's Lechler GmbH.

Sales were managed through domestic sales offices. In 1967 production was expanded again and relocated to Metzingen. Sales and administration were combined in the Lechler house in Fellbach.

In the following years production companies were acquired in England (1972) and the USA (1975). The American company relocated its headquarters to the Midwest in St. Charles, Illinois in 1986.

With the nozzle program for environmental and desulphurisation technology, the sales program was supplemented in 1988 with separator profiles and complete separator cassettes.

As part of the globalization of the company, manufacturing subsidiaries were set up for the regional markets in India, Hungary and China in the 1980s.

Sales and administration were relocated from Fellbach to Metzingen in 1995. This is the first time that all functions have been combined at one location.

In the meantime, a new production hall with 14,000 m² of floor space has been built. The new technical center with test stands, test departments and prototype workshop will be moved into in 2014. Lechler is mainly active in the fields of metallurgical and rolling mill technology, general industry, agricultural technology and environmental technology.

Ownership structure

The company shares are 100% owned by the Lechler family.

The shareholders each transfer 10% of the company income they receive to the Lechler Foundation, which supports charitable institutions for the disabled and disadvantaged population groups, especially in Baden-Württemberg.
