Teachers' Council

The teachers' forms in some states in Germany a three- to five-member panel, which in a teacher conference is selected secret and directly.

The legal bases are laid down in the school laws of the individual countries.

The teachers' council advises the headmaster on matters affecting the teaching staff and mediates between superiors and teachers. The school principal is obliged to report to and hear from the teachers' council. The approval of the teachers' council is required when hiring a teacher with a fixed-term contract.
