Ladder's own triad

Triads can be built on any tone. So also on tones of scales . If only notes from this scale are used, one speaks of a ladder-specific triad .

The ladder-specific triads of a scale are divided into major and minor triads.

  • Main triads on the main levels I, IV and V are also major triads in a major scale and are called tonic , subdominant and dominant .
  • The secondary triads on levels II, III and VI are minor triads in a major scale, the secondary triad on level VII is a diminished one.
