Lena Chamamyan

Lena Chamamyan (also Lena Chamamaan ; Arabic لينا شماميان; Armenian Լենա Շամամյան; born June 27, 1980 in Damascus ) is a Syrian - Armenian singer, musician and composer.

Life and artistic career

Lena Chamamyan studied Arabic and European classical music at the Damascus Conservatory. She sings in five different languages, mainly folk or popular Syrian and Armenian music . In 2006 she released her first album, which received attention in the European media. Alongside other European musicians, she worked with accordionist Manfred Leuchter and now lives in exile in Paris . In Germany she performed in the Kampnagel Kulturfabrik Hamburg and in the Münchner Kammerspiele n.
