Leonie Pihama

Leonie E. Pihama is a New Zealand university professor and filmmaker with origins from the Māori - iwi Te Āti Awa , Ngā Māhanga a Tairi , Ngāti Māhanga . She represents and researches the philosophy of the Kaupapa Māori .

Live and act

Leonie Pihama received a scholarship from Fulbright / Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga and is now working as a freelance scientist. She received her PhD from the University of Auckland and initially worked in the Faculty of Education at that university as an Adjunct Associate Professor .

She has six children. Her partner is the Māori TV news anchor Ngarimu Daniels . Leonie Pihama was previously in the management of this station. She has been Director of the Te Kotahi Research Institute since July 2013 .
