Sports
From February 1, 1907 to February 4, 1907, the Second Winter Sports Festival of the Thuringian Winter Sports Association took place in Oberhof. In this context, a bobsleigh race was held, which today is officially the 1st German bobsleigh championship. The pilot of the "Deutscher Michel" bobsleigh was Leopold Hofmann. The team included F. Herchner, O. Naumann, Dr. W. Tretschke and Dr. Giusti as a brakeman. Leopold Hofmann and his team won the first ever gold cup of the German Crown Prince. This challenge cup went to the Free School Community in Wickersdorf in 1912 and has been lost there.
