The Leopoldina Prize is an award worth 2,000 euros (up to 2007 1,000 euros), which has been awarded since 1993 from the Karl Lohmann donation to outstanding young scientists in the fields of natural sciences, medicine or the history of science . The candidates for the prize, which is awarded by the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina , must not be older than 30 years.
