Les Quatre Etoiles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Les Quatre Etoiles du Zaire, also known as "Quatre Etoiles", "4 Etoiles" or "4 Stars", was a Congolese soukous band of the 1980s and 1990s that was very well known in large parts of Africa. It existed between 1982 and 1996 and consisted of the Paris-based Congolese musicians Bopol Mansiamina (bass and rhythm guitar), Wuta Mayi (vocals), Syran Mbenza (lead guitar) and Nyboma (vocals). The band was commonly referred to as a "supergroup" as each of the four members of Les Quatre Etoiles had long established individual musical careers.
