Zhang Yaoguang (born June 21, 1993 ) is a Chinese long jumper .

Athletic career

Zhang Yaoguang gained his first international experience at the Asian Indoor Championships 2014 in Hangzhou , where he finished fourth with 7.69 m and sixth in the triple jump with 15.67 m. Two years later he won the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha with 7.99 m . In 2017 he took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and was eliminated there with 7.18 m in qualification. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Wang Jianan with 8.15 m . The following year he won the silver medal behind the Japanese Yūki Hashioka at the Asian Championships in Doha with a width of 8.13 m . He also took part in the World Championships there and was eliminated from the qualification with 7.82 m .

In 2017 and 2018, Zhang was Chinese champion in the long jump outdoors and in 2019 also in the hall.
