Wang Jianan ( Chinese  王 嘉 男 , Pinyin Wáng Jiānán; born August 27, 1996 in Shenyang ) is a Chinese long jumper .

Athletic career

Wang Jianan gained his first international experience at the 2013 Asian Championships in Pune , where he won with a jump of 7.95 m and thus qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where he was eliminated with 7.59 m in the qualification. In 2014 he won the Junior World Championships in Eugene with 8.08 m and in 2015 he won the bronze medal behind the British Greg Rutherford and Fabrice Lapierre from Australia at the World Championships in Beijing with 8.18 m in the final . In 2016 he took part in the World Indoor Championships in Portland and finished eighth there with 7.93 m. During the outdoor season he qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he finished fifth with 8.17 m in the final .

In 2017 he again took part in the World Championships in London , where he finished seventh with 8.23 ​​m in the final . In June of the following year he equalized the Chinese record of 8.47 m, which he has since held with Li Jinzhe . At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he won the gold medal with a new player record of 8.24 m. He was then at the Athletics Continental Cup in Ostrava with 7.95 m fifth. In 2019 he qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he finished sixth with 8.20 m in the final , before winning the gold medal at the World Military Games in Wuhan with a width of 8.15 m.

In 2012, Wang became the Chinese Long Jump Champion.
