This article covers the former Congolese national anthem. The French July Revolution of 1830 is also called this.
Les Trois Glorieuses ( The Three Famous People ) was the national anthem of the Republic of the Congo from 1970 to 1991. It replaced today's national anthem, La Congolaise , and was replaced by it. The acceptance of the anthem and its replacement is temporally related to the form of government of the People's Republic , which the Republic of Congo assumed from 1969 to 1991.
The text is by Henri Lopès, the melody by Philippe Mockouamy.
text
Lève toi, Patrie courageuse,
Toi qui en trois journées glorieuses
Saisis et porte le drapeau
Pour un Congo libre et nouveau,
Qui ne jamais plus ne faillira,
Que personne n'effrayera.
Rise up, brave fatherland,
which in three glorious days
you will take up and carry the flag
For a free and new Congo,
which will never be weak,
which no one will frighten.
refrain
Nous avons brisés nos chaines,
Nous travaillerons sans peine,
Nous sommes une Nation sovereign.
refrain
We broke our chains
We work without hassle
We are an independent nation.
Si trop tôt me tue l'ennemi,
Brave camarade, saisis mon fusil;
Et si la balle touche mon coeur,
Toutes nos soeurs se lèveront sans peur,
Et nos monts, nos flots en fureur
Repousseront l'envahisseur.
If the enemy kills me too soon,
brave comrade, grab my rifle;
And when the bullet enters my heart,
all our sisters will rise without fear,
And our mountains, our floods, will
repel the invader in anger .
Ici commence la Patrie
Où chaque humain a le même prix.
Notre seule guide c'est le Peuple.
Notre génie c'est encore le Peuple.
C'est lui seule qui a décidé
De rétablir sa dignité.
There begins the fatherland,
where every person has the same value.
Our only leader is the people,
and our spirit is the people too.
It was alone that decided to
restore His dignity.
