from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lesy (German Herzogwald , formerly Czech Herčivald ) is an abandoned village in Okres Opava in the Czech Republic . It was in the area where the Lobnig joins the Mohra , about one and a half kilometers west of the Mohra at 560 m above sea level. Its corridors are part of the town of Budišov nad Budišovkou .

history

In 1944 Herzogwald belonged to the district of Bärn and had 629 inhabitants, who lived mainly from agriculture. In 1946 the German residents were expelled.

When the construction of the Mohratalsperre began in the 1950s, all new residents also had to leave the place. In 1983 the place was leveled except for two houses and planted with forest. The forest area created in this way was named "Lesy". Coordinates: 49 ° 50 '  N , 17 ° 36'  E
