The Latvian War Museum ( Latvijas Kara muzejs ) is a museum in the Latvian capital Riga .

It is located on the edge of the old town in the Powder Tower and a building that was built between 1937 and 1940 and adjoins the tower. It was dedicated to a period from the 13th century to the 18th century, the First and Second World Wars through the Soviet era to the present in chronological and spatial ascending order in each of the floors . The focus is on the first half of the 20th century as well as the documentation and development of the Latvian nation and its ability to defend itself.

Overall, the museum offers a large number of impressive exhibits of artillery, hand weapons, edged weapons, projectiles and grenades, uniforms, helmets, medals, documents & photographs, replica shelters, hospital equipment, concentration camp prisoner drills, etc.

In the Tirelismoor (let. Tīreļu purvs) there is a branch that commemorates the battles on the Aa (let. Ziemassvētku kaujas jeb Jelgavas operācija ).

Entry is free for all visitors. A small museum shop is located in the foyer.
