Lia Tilon
Lia Tilon (* 1965 in Broek in Waterland , Netherlands) is a Dutch writer.
Life
Lia Tilon began training in classical ballet , but dropped out at the age of 15. After a phase with various jobs, she worked for a long time as a correctional officer . She made her debut novel in 2002 with the title Huizen van papier (Eng. "House made of paper").
In addition to her novels, she writes short stories that have appeared in the literary magazines De Gids and Tirade . In 2017 she tried a creative entry into social media with the project Vreemde ogen dwingen . She collected impressions online for a photo by the American photographer Gregory Crewdson and processed them into a short story.
Her fourth novel Der Archivar der Welt , published in 2017, is the first of her books to be translated into German (2019). It is based on the world tour of the philanthropist Albert Kahn and his vision to bring people and cultures closer together through photographs and thus to serve peace. The novel processes the story in the form of a fictional diary by Kahn's chauffeur and photographer Alfred Dutertre.
