Liechtenstein Guitar Days

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Liechtenstein Guitar Days (ligita) are a week-long festival for classical guitar with master classes, concerts and a guitar competition that has been held in Liechtenstein since 1992 .

In 1992, with Kurt Gstöhl, Manfred Strässer, Elmar Gangl, Michael Buchrainer, Dietmar Tiefenthaler and Leon Koudelak, a group of guitarists and local guitar enthusiasts organized the first Liechtenstein Guitar Days ligita. For the first festival they were able to win Grammy winner David Russell for a concert, which made the festival famous in the scene. Since then, guitarists of the classical guitar, flamenco, tango and jazz have played at the Liechtenstein Guitar Days.
