Lih Janowitz

Lih Janowitz (* in Cologne ) is a filmmaker and dramaturge who lives in Berlin .

Career

After studying political science and German language and literature in Cologne and Heidelberg, Lih Janowitz completed a degree in directing at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin and graduated successfully in 1990.

She writes screenplays and directs feature films as well as short and documentary films.

Lih Janowitz has been working together for many years with the workshop for intercultural media work . Since 2006 she has been a lecturer for film in the field of culture - aesthetics - media at the Alice Salomon University in Berlin . She also does freelance dramaturgical advice for film productions. From 2008 to 2012 she taught film dramaturgy at the DAA media academy . The documentary Brown Bread was made in collaboration with Sarah Gross and won the “Best World Documentary” award at the 2014 Harlem International Film Festival in New York. Lih Janowitz is a member of ProQuote Director .
