Limbu script

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Limbu script is an abugida used to write the Limbu language . It was invented in the 9th century, then fell out of use, and came back into everyday use in the 17th century. Unlike other typefaces in the Indian family, it does not contain its own characters for vowels at the beginning of a word, but instead a vowel carrier that can be combined with the vowel characters. Unicode contains Limbu characters in the range 1900-194F .
