Lipcani

Lipcani (Cyrillic Липканы / Lipkany) is a city in the Briceni Rajon of the Republic of Moldova . A border crossing point to Romania is operated south of the town . Since 1893 Lipcani has had a rail connection on what is now the Chernivtsi – Ocnița railway line .
The city got its name from the settlement of Polish-Lithuanian Muslims , the so-called Lipka Tatars , during the Ottoman rule.
