List of Governors of Nigerian Regions
This list includes the governors of the Nigerian regions from 1957 to 1967.
The division into three regions was introduced in 1957 by the British colonial administration in the course of the decentralization of Nigeria and retained after independence in 1960, with the fourth region, Midwest , being split off from Western in 1963 . In 1967 the regions were replaced by states, which, like the regions, are administered by governors.
