Italian handball champions (men)

With the season 1969/1970 the newly founded Italian handball association ( Federazione Italiana Giuoco Handball , abbreviated FIGH) started playing.

The champions are determined in the Serie A d'Elite as the top division. Eight teams are allowed. The points from the first round with a return game are carried over to the second round, in which all teams meet again in just one game. After this phase ad orologio, the four with the highest points determine the champion ( Poule Scudetto ), the other four the relegated ( Poule Retrocessione ), each with a round trip and taking into account the points scored up to that point.
