Inline skating tricks

The inline skating tricks, like other sports from the area of fun / extreme sports, have the same names - in the area of the category (e.g. flip) as well as for some tricks (e.g. backflip). See also skateboard . Even so, each sport has its own category of tricks that the others don't.

Here is a list:

Basic concepts

  • Air - jumping with inline skates
  • Grabs - Grabs are tricks that are mostly performed in the air. You touch any part of your skate and thus create a grave. However, it is also possible to touch the free skate during a one-legged grind and thus combine a grind with a grave.
  • Flips - A somersault when jumping over a ramp or in a quarter.
  • Spins - rotation when jumping in the air. The name of the trick is derived from the number of degrees completed (e.g. 180 = rotation by 180 °, 360 = rotation by 360 °, i.e. one full turn of the body, 540 = 1½ times the turn, etc.) You can also dig a grave with a Combine spin.

Trick category

  • Wallride - Is driving on the wall. You drive slightly diagonally towards the wall and then jump off in such a way that you are driving along the wall with both skates.
  • Wallstalls - Is jumping off a wall. You drive towards the wall, jump off at the right moment and push yourself off the wall with one or both skates.
  • Grinding - sliding on rails and curbs (examples: banisters, stairs, raised poles). There are many variations of the grind, e.g. B. Shifty / Royal, Soul, Acid Soul (Acid), Fahrvergnügen / Full Tour, Pornstar, 50–50. These can also be combined with spins or the like.
  • Switchups - Switchups are a series of grinds, where you change the position of the foot during the grind (from front to back, from front to back, etc.).
  • Manuals or wheelies - driving on just one role, e.g. B. on the front roll (Toe Roll) or only on the back roll (Heel Roll). Mind you, only one roller is used and only one leg is used. A wheelie is only ever done with one leg. The other leg is drawn in and thus hangs in the air.
  • Power Slides - Sliding (gliding) over a flat surface (e.g. marble floors, metal plates). You use the outside or inside of the skate to perform these tricks.
  • Cess slides or shuffles - trick that is similar to the grind. Instead of an edge or a railing, however, the trick is used directly on the ground. A smooth or waxed surface is required for this. The most common Cess Slide is the Shifty Royale Cess Slide.
  • Ground Spins - Like Cess Slides, they can be performed on flat ground. During the slide on the ground, you only spin (spin) through this trick by 180 °, 360 ° or even more.
  • Lip Tricks - Lip tricks are performed on the edge (lip) of a ramp. There are also many variations, e.g. B. Handstand with one hand while digging a grave or just stand on it for a second or two with the middle of the skates.
  • Sidesurf - The skates are angled so that there is an angle of 180 ° between them and both skates point away from the body (supposedly this is also possible towards the body, but probably only for very flexible people). The sidesurf can z. B. can be combined with driving on two rollers.
