Lithuanian Safe Shipping Administration

The Lithuanian Safe Shipping Administration ( Lithuanian Lietuvos saugios laivybos administracija ) is a national authority for the safety of shipping in Lithuania , legally a budget body ( Lithuanian biudžetinė įstaiga ). It reports to the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport . The official communications and publications of the authority are published in the daily newspaper Klaipėda . The authority is based in the port city of Klaipėda .

history

On November 8, 2000, the Lithuanian government reorganized the port of Klaipėda . The port administration ( Lithuanian Uosto direkcija ) continued its activities and the budgetary authority Lietuvos saugios laivybos administracija was designated as the supervisory authority.

On April 12, 2001, the port administration director founded Saugios laivybos administracija , a branch of Klaipėdos valstybinio jūrų uosto direkcija . On May 1, 2001, the administration began its work. The branch director was subordinate to the director of the port management. On June 25, 2002, the agency's statutes were approved by the Transport Minister. On June 26, 2002, Lietuvos saugios laivybos administracija was registered as a legal entity. In 2010, Valstybinė vidaus vandenų laivybos inspekcija was affiliated after the reorganization.
