Lithuanian Writers Union

The Lithuanian Writers' Union (lit. Lietuvos rašytojų sąjunga ) is the advocacy and an association of professional writers or of professional writers in Lithuania . It is based in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . With 100+ members it is the largest federal association for authors. Every year it awards the prize for high quality literary work . The association has a department in Kaunas , a club and its own publishing house. The oldest Lithuanian writers' organization was established in 1920 as Lietuvos meno kūrėjų draugijos Literatų sekcija . In 2017 the association had 13 employees.
