Literaturnaya ( Russian Литературная гарнитура ) is a serif - font in the late 1930s by Anatoly Shchukin at Poligraf Masch in the Soviet Union was developed. It is based on the Latinskaja by Hermann Berthold (1901). From 1950 to 1990, most of the books in many socialist countries were placed in literary naya.
