With license management software , companies and organizations can manage their software licenses . The main goal is to determine whether you have the right amount of software licenses compared to the software actually used.

function

With a license management software is in a database detected, on the one hand as many software products actually used ( Software Inventory ) and were on the other hand as many licenses purchased ( license inventory ). Finally, during a compliance check, the two inventories are compared with one another and any difference that may arise is shown as over- or under-licensing. Ideally, the two inventories are created automatically during regular operation so that the input of the license management software does not require any great effort. On the other hand, the software provides reports as a basis for management decisions.
