Ljabru is part of the Nordstrand district of the Norwegian capital Oslo .

When the Ekebergbahn was extended in 1941, the terminus was named Ljabru after a farm near Ljanselva , which is a little further south. Ljabru means bridge over Ljorn, which is the old name for the Ljanselva ( Ljarnarbru ). In the vicinity is the original Ljabru hovedgård , a large yard that now houses a kindergarten.

JN Wilse described the area in a travelogue from 1764, mentioning that the wooden bridge at that time should be replaced by one made of stone. In 1804 a stone bridge was built as part of the Frederikshaldske Kongevei . The bridge is still in use and is now the template for the bridge in the district's logo.
