North Beach (Oslo)

Nordstrand is a southern district of the Norwegian capital Oslo . It has 52,459 inhabitants (2020) and an area of ​​16.8 km². In addition to Nordstrand, Ekeberg and Bekkelaget , the district has also included Lambertseter since 2004 . The district also includes some islands, the largest of which is Malmøya . The district was originally called Sæterstranda. The district was annexed to Oslo around 1917 after the Ekbergbahn was expanded to Sæter and in 1941 to Ljabru .
