Frogner

Frogner is a district of the Norwegian capital Oslo . It includes the urban areas of Frogner, parts of Majorstuen, Hegdehaugen, Homansbyen, Briskeby, Uranienborg, Ruseløkka, Skillebekk, Skarpsno, Skøyen and Bygdøy . Frogner has 59,269 inhabitants (2020) on an area of ​​8.3 km².

Frogner was originally a farm in Aker Municipality , now known as Frogner Hovedgård (Frogner Manor). In the 18th and 19th centuries, Frogner belonged to rich families such as Anker and Wegner. When Kristiania (Oslo) expanded from 1878, Frogner was incorporated. In the 19th century the area was parceled out, and since 1896 it has been part of Frogner Park . The district is dominated by villas, with allotments in the southeast.
