Ullern is a western part of the Norwegian capital Oslo . It has 34,569 inhabitants (2020) and an area of ​​9.4 km². Ullern was initially a municipality in Aker (1906), it was incorporated into Oslo together with Aker in 1948. The original name of Ullerns goes back to a farm from the 14th century. The Ekely artist colony with the winter studio of the painter Edvard Munch is also located in Ullern . The Ullern kirke , built in 1904, is also located in the center of the district .
