In many collective agreements , the relevant positions are assigned to specific wage and salary groups.

Wage group I: Work that is carried out after a short training period and instruction.

Wage group II: Work that is carried out after more than a short training period and detailed instruction and which go beyond the requirements of the previous wage group.

Salary group III: Work that requires work knowledge and skills with a certain amount of experience and requires training.

Wage group IV: Work that requires specialist knowledge and skills with additional experience that go beyond the requirements of the previous wage groups.

Wage group V: Work that requires comprehensive knowledge and skills, as can be achieved through special training and appropriate experience.

Wage group VI: Work that requires special skills, which is achieved either through a completed two-year training course or training as in the previous wage group with additional, longer experience.

Wage group VII: Specialized work that requires a skill that is achieved through appropriate, properly completed training , or work the execution of which requires equivalent special skills and specialist knowledge, even if they are not acquired through appropriate, properly completed training.

Wage group VIII: Difficult specialist work that requires special skills and many years of experience.

Wage group IX: Particularly difficult or high-quality specialist work that places high demands on professional skills and knowledge and requires great independence and a high sense of responsibility.

Salary group X: Highest quality specialist work that requires outstanding ability, complete independence, disposition skills, a comprehensive sense of responsibility and corresponding theoretical knowledge.
