The local railway Tábor – Bechin (Czech: Mistní dráha Tábor – Bechyně ) was a private, state-guaranteed local railway company in today's Czech Republic . She was the owner of the electrically operated Tábor – Bechyně railway in southern Bohemia .

On April 19, 1902, “ Ignaz Daniel, mayor in Bechin, in association with Franz Hanuš, lordly head administrator in Bechin, Johann Černý, district secretary in Bechin, received the requested concession for the construction and operation of a standard-gauge local railway with electrical operations from the station Tabor on the Gmünd – Prague line of the Imperial and Royal State Railways to Bechin ”. The company's share capital totaled 828,400 crowns .

The route was opened on June 21, 1903.

The operation was carried out by the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) on behalf of the local railway Tábor – Bechin . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .

On January 1, 1925, the local Tábor – Bechin railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

The route still exists. (As of 2014)

Locomotives and wagons

kkStB 40.001

The kkStB acquired four electric multiple units of the kkStB series 40.0 from František Křižík and Ringhoffer in Prague for the account of the local railway Tábor – Bechin . The vehicles had the road numbers 40.001–004.

The 40.001 (ČSD 400.001) has been preserved as an operational museum vehicle of the National Technical Museum in Prague .
